Commercial vs. Residential Pest Control Services

Commercial vs. Residential Pest Control Services

In today’s world we are faced with various pest control services and offerings redeemable both online and offline. Services range from pesky creatures and insects to termite tent fumigation. Clients are required to seek pest control services both in homes and in workplaces. To maintain a healthy community both commercial and residential pest control is required and recommended by most experts. The needs for commercial pest control services vary based on location, building structure, and frequency of use. The needs for residential pest control is directly affected by those residing in the home, location, and building structure. Let’s take a look at what you can expect when it comes to pest control in or near your home or office.

In residential cases the reason for calling a pest control service is usually to tackle an existing pest problem or have a recurring problem taken care of. There are often many special offers for regular pest control maintenance for residential and commercial properties. Commercial pest control services are more or less the same as residential. Both homeowners and landlords must employ a pest control expert on a regular basis to keep pests at bay and to prevent infestations.

Commercial pest control covers a broad range of services compared to those administered for residential properties. Commercial properties that often seek a minimum of two visits a week include facilities such as daycare centers and a bustling kitchen of a busy restaurant. With commercial pest control services, there is always a possibility that the company requires a similar treatment for their multiple locations. Places such as hotels and restaurants always seem to have trouble with pests of various types including bedbugs, roaches, and ants. While each location undergoes a unique treatment plan, commercial pest control services must take into consideration the business as a whole.

What to Expect

It is obvious that with working parents, residential pest control services need to be flexible to accommodate treatments to take place in the early evenings or even on the weekends.  There could also be the issue of trust for residential customers who may not be comfortable being away from their homes when technicians are at work. For commercial pest control cases, the flexibility factor is even more important as the business cannot keep customers or employees waiting. The services need to be rendered in a way that the regular business is not affected.

With residential cases, it is often a call to tackle a problem at hand. Emotions could be running high or it could be that the homeowner is having a bad day and decides to vent it out on service technician. During this state, this customer may not be in a position to hear that their pest control problem could take weeks to resolve. With commercial pest control cases, dealing with emotions of a customer is not that complicated. Of course, business owners can be upset with a potential pest problem in their work areas, but most such decisions are soundly made.

A residential customer could be well informed when pest control specialist arrive and may have already researched the pest specific-related information off the internet. It is more or less the same for commercial customers, since they actually have engineers and sanitarians that make it their secondary job to keep their business area clean and hygienic. Technicians must report to these engineers and set the right expectations with them.
The residential customer wants the pest problem to be done away with yet that is not always feasible. If the pests come again, it is automatically assumed that the technician did not do his job right so ensuring proper information and prevention is imperative.
